PPC 1860: Pakistan Penal Code, app for Android (com.shhashmi.ppc) · Effective 13 September 2026

Who we are

This app is developed by Siddique Haider Hashmi (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at contact@shhashmi.com or through www.shhashmi.com.

Summary

The app does not collect, share or sell any personal or sensitive user data. It has no account or sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and it does not send any information to us or to anyone else.

Information kept on your phone

To work, the app saves the following only in its private storage on your device: bookmarks, highlights and the notes you add to them, test results and missed questions, recently opened sections and recent searches, and your reading preferences (such as text size, typeface, theme and voice speed). This information never leaves your phone through the app, and we cannot see or access it.

Device backup

If Android backup is turned on for your device, Android may include this app’s saved information in your device backup to your own Google account. That backup is handled by Google under your account settings. We never receive it.

Listen (text-to-speech)

The Listen feature reads section text aloud using the text-to-speech engine built into your phone. The app chooses an offline voice, so the text is processed on your device and is not sent to us.

Links and sharing

When you tap Website, Email, Rate on the store or Share, the app hands over to another app of your choice, such as your browser, email app or the Play Store. Those apps and services are governed by their own privacy policies.

Permissions

The app does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, files or any other personal information on your device.

Children

The app is intended for adults, including law students and legal professionals. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Keeping and deleting your information

Your information stays on your phone until you remove it. Inside the app you can clear recently viewed sections, recent searches, bookmarks, highlights and test history. You can remove everything at once by clearing the app’s storage in your phone’s settings or by uninstalling the app. Because we hold no information about you, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

Not a government app

This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Government of Pakistan or any government entity. For the official text of federal laws, see Pakistan Code.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address and in the app, with a new effective date.
